Our History
The origins of the company date back to the formation of Instone Air Line in England, in 1919. The company operated as an independent airline before eventually amalgamating with other operators to become Imperial Airways, the forerunner of BOAC which is now British Airways.

In the early 1920's, Instone Air Line carried the first known racehorse to be transported by air. Jockeys were also frequent travellers on the company's passenger services, operating from London to the capitals of Europe. The link between Instone Air Services and the bloodstock industry was therefore forged over 70 years ago, long before most people had seriously considered aircraft as a general means of transportation
In 1976, Instone Air Services was re-formed by Giles and Jeremy Instone, two of the grandsons of the original founders. The company has since supplied a variety of aircraft equipped with Instone horse containers to transport many different types of horses throughout the world.
The company now utilises aircraft ranging from small short-haul European freighters to 727, 707, DC8, DC10 aircraft, and the 112 horse capacity of the Boeing 747 Jumbo.
