In addition to the use of modern jet aircraft, two of the elements that guarantee your horses arrive in the best condition are first class horse containers and highly experienced grooms. If the horse is comfortable and safe in an aircraft horse container, then it is more likely to travel well and arrive unstressed. The horse containers used by Instone Air Services are recognised as being the best available for both charter and scheduled service flights. Designed and manufactured by the company in the U.K., the Instone horse containers have been certified by the British Civil Aviation Authority and are approved by various veterinary bodies.

Patents have been granted for the Instone "walk-on/walk-off" system and for the "AIRSTABLE".

The features of the fully enclosed Instone"AIRSTABLE" have attracted immense praise worldwide by all who have seen or used them. Some of the innovations are:

  • accommodation for up to 3 large horses
  • ramps at each end to facilitate safe loading and unloading from the ground or directly from the horse van.
  • full roof-to-floor partitions that adjust to vary the width of stall for each horse, thereby providing any configuration
  • abundant headroom
  • non-slip granular rubber flooring throughout, including both ramps
  • groom doors on both sides for quick easy access
  • adjustable ventilation on all four sides
  • head dividers
  • removable internal doors and breast bars
  • surfaces easy to clean and disinfect

The "AIRSTABLE" is used as standard equipment by leading Boeing 747/MD11 operators including Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Atlas, Cargolux, Cathay Pacific Airways, DHL, Evergreen, FedEx, KLM, Lufthansa, Nippon Cargo, Malaysian, Polar Air Cargo, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines.

Instone Air Services extensive inventory of equipment enables the company to base horse containers at strategic worldwide locations, and to equip any suitable type of aircraft at short notice, thereby keeping costs to a minimum.
